SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

AN ACT concerning
Republican State Central Committee Committees - Term of
Office - Beginning Date - Meetings
FOR the purpose of altering the date on which the terms of office
of members of the Republican State Central Committee begin;
making stylistic changes; requiring each political party
central committee to specify the date by which certain
meetings shall be convened; and generally relating to the
terms of office of members of the Republican State Central
Committee.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 33 - Election Code
11-1.
(b) The constitution and bylaws shall provide for such
matters as in the opinion of the political party shall be
necessary for the proper conduct of party affairs, and shall
specifically provide for the election of a party chairman and the
State central committee of the party; for a meeting to be
convened within forty-five days after [every gubernatorial
primary election] THE ELECTION NEXT PRECEDING THE COMMENCEMENT OF
THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE COMMITTEE; for the manner of calling
all meetings and for advance notification thereof; for rules
