187 March Court 1716 the Suite of a certain George Hill in a plea of Trespass upon the Case then in the Said Court before the Said Justices depending Then the afd William Glanvill did undertake the payment of the damages in the Accõn afd and Cost accruing if it Should happen that the Said Plt~ Shouldobtain Judgment against the Said Deft~ in the Said Accõn of Trespass upon the Case and the Said Deft the Condemnation afd Should not Satisfie nor himselfe to the Custody of the Sherf of Said County deliver or that the Said William Glanvill the body of the Said John Hodges Shall not render &ca. which certain Accon the afd William Glanvill of his Lands and Chattells to be made and to ye behoofeand use of the afd George Hill to be Levied if the Said John Hodges in any ye premises to make default and thereof his Lawfull manner to be Convicted as by the Record and process thereof in the Said Court of ye Said Ld Proprietor - here residing manifestly appeareth and altho’ ye afd George Hill after: :wards vizt on ye twenty first day of August las tin Court in the Second year of the Dominion of our Lord Proprietor in the Said County Court before the Said Justices Mr James Harris and his associates then Justices of the Sd Lord Proprietor of the Court and County afd of and upon the plea afd had recovered against the afd John Hodges as well the afd Sume of Six pounds twelve Shillings Currant money afd Damages as also the Sume of Eleaven hundred and Twenty nine pounds of Tobacco which to the Said George Hill in the Said Court here were adjudged for his Cost which he had by Occation of detaining of his damages whereof he is Convicted Sustained as by ye Record & Process thereof in the Same Court of ye Said Lord Proprietor before the Said Justices here Likewise residing doth manifestly appear Yet the afd John Hodges his body to ye.
