   John Heyden | Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County the
           at | the Second day of June in the thirteenth yeare of the Reigne of
   Peter Merey -   | her now Majestie Anne &ca That he take Peter Massey late of K.t


County Planter if he Should be found in his Baylwick & him Safe
   keepe So that he have his body before her Said Majesties Justices of her Said Court now
   held at ye Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County in Court Judicially Sitting —
   Immediately to Answer unto John Hadden of the Sd Coty Planr. of a plea of Trespass.
   upon ye Case and that he have then and there the Said writ &ca. .
           Att which Said Court Came William Frisby Gent— high Sherf of Said County
   and made return of Said writ in these words thereon endorsed as foll viz.t Cepi Corpus
   p Wm Ffrisby sherf—
           Att which Said Court the afd Deft being Called Came And the Said Plt by
   Thomas Bowne his attry Prayd that the Said Deft might give Special Bayle to the
   above Accõn which was granted and that the Sherf of Said County was to keep
   in Safe Custody untill was granted give Bayle as afd
           After which John Clarke of Said County in Court Came And did Acknowledge
   himselfe as Special Bayle to the afd Accõn and doth undertake for the Said Deft-
   ye Payment of the Damages and Cost if it Shold happen that the afd John Hedden
   Should obtaine Judgment against the Said Peter Massey in the Said Accon Trespass
   upon the Case and the Said Peter the Condemnation Sh[ould] not Satisfie nor him:
  :Selfe to the Custody of the Sherf of Said County deliver or that the Said John Clarke
   the body of the Said Peter Massey Should not render &ca.
           After which the Said Deft by Francis Cooke his attorney appear’d to the
   above Accon and prayd liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to Answer at next
   Court which was granted the Same day was given the Plt also.
           Att which Said next Court viz.t the third day of August in the year afd the
   Said Cause was by this Court Continued untill next Court in Course &ca.
           Att which Said next Court viz this fourth day of November in the year afd .
   the Said Cause Standing for tryal Came the Said Plt by Thomas Bowne his Attry &
   the Said Deft by Francis Cooke his Attry and the Said Plt by his afd Attry .
   files his Declaration with the Clarke of this Court But afterwards Comes into
   Court the Said Plt by his Said Attry And Prays that he may pay Cost to the
