       State of Maryland Prince Georges County sct
             On this Eighth day of December 1846 before
       the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace
       in and for said county and state personally
       appeared George Gloyd and made oath on
       the Holy Evangely of Almighty God That
       the bearer John Proctor was originally the
       property of John Chew late of said county
       deceased and he knew him personally
       to be the Boy John named in the Will of
       the said John Chew to be free at a certain
       age
                Given under my hand & seal
       this 8th day of December 1846
