Maryland Prince Georges County to wit On this 4.th day of February 1837 personally appears before me the subscriber a justice of the peace in and for Said County M.r Theodore M Williams and makes oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Bearer of this a negro Girl named Nanny was the property of the late Cap.t Hanson Magruder and by his last will & testament left free at when she arrived at the age of seventeen or eighteen Sworn before Benj.n E Gantt To the Register of Wills of Prince Georges Co Sir I have examined the girl mentioned above, & by her since you the foregoing certificate she is of a bright black or brown colour 4 ft 11¾ inches high a nearly as I can ascertain without her shoes has a very small scar on her 4.th finger of the left hand occationed from a burn & a slight scar on the 1.st joint of the fore finger left hand she has no other visible marks about her respectfully Benj.a E Gantt Justice P |
