Maryland Prince Georges County Sc.t On the 22.d day of June 1833 personally appears before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid Richard Gray of the County aforesaid and makes Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that some time in the year 1832 the firmer time this defendant cannot recollect but believes it to have been in the latter part of the month of December he lost his certificate of freedom granted him by the Clerk of Prince Georges County Court that he has since made a diligent search and inquiry for said Certificate but has not been able to recover it and the said Richard Gray further makes Oath that the said Certificate was not given to any slave with a view of aiding or assisting him or her in making his or her escape from his or her owner or master Sworn before J H Boteler J P |
