       On this 17 day of August 1857  Personally appeared
       before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of
       the said State & County & Theodore M Williams &
       Made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God
       that negroes Mary ^Ann^ & Louisa Chase
       were born free being the reputed children of
             Sarah Chase                           who was
       set free by the last will & testament of Henderson
       Magruder late of said County deceased
                                        Sworn to before
