                   State of Maryland Prince Georges County
                   I hereby certify that on this 7.th day of
       March in the year 1857 before me the subscriber
       one of the justices of the Peace in and for the said
       County and state personally appeared Eugenius
       F Edelin of Charles County and made Oath on the
       Holy Evangely of Almighty God that James Thomas
       Ford the Son of Nancy Ford was free born and
       is entitled to his free papers witness my hand the
       day and year first written
