       State of Maryland
                            Prince Georges County To Wit
       On this 6.th day of December 1856 before
       me a Justice of the peace in and for
       said county  Personally appeared
       James Naylor of James and makes
       oath on the holy Evangely of Almighty
       God  That Robert Spriggs aged
       Twenty one years was born free and
       is well known to the aforesaid James Naylor
       he is about 5 feet 7 inches high dark
       complection and slender made and
       now makes application for his
       free papers - according to the Act of
       Legislative Assembly in such cases
       made and provided
                              Fielder W Greer JP
       To the Clerk of
       C C of Prince Georges County






       The above named Robert Spriggs was raised by the
       Subscriber born on his farm and bound to him
       to Serve untill he was twenty one years of age
       as the Records of the orphans court of Said P G County
       will Show
