          State of Maryland Prince Georges County (To wit
       I hereby Certify that Stephen B Ward Esq Appeared
       before Me the subscriber one of the Justices of the
       Peace in and for the said County and Made Oath
       on the Holy Evangily of Almighty God That Negro
       Horace Boothe Being born in his immediate neigborhood
       and of free parents and is therefore
       Entitled to receive papers from the County
       Clerk to that Effect The said Negro is about
       23 Years of age 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high
       and of a copper Colour
                                           Given under my
       hand and seal this 2.nd day of Aug.t 1855
