             On this 19.th August 1848 personally appears
       Overton C Warner and made oath on the
       Holy Evangely of Almighty God that negro
       boy Adolphus Davis aged twenty one
       years of light complexion, is the reputed
       son of Mary Davis a White
       woman - and that he believes the
       said Adolphus Davis was born free
