                I hereby certify that the bearer
       hereof a coloured man named Jacob
       calling himself jacob Shorter of a bright
       complexion about five feet and a half
       high having a small mole a little
       under the left eye and a scar on
       the wrist of the left hand and being
       about the age of forty one years has
       produced satisfactory evidence to me
       that he is a free man having obtained
       his freedom by virtue of a Deed of
       Manumission executed by Verdict
