(D)  ACTION ON REPORT.

AFTER A UNIT OR THE COMPTROLLER RECEIVES A REPORT UNDER THIS
SECTION, THE UNIT OR COMPTROLLER:

(1)  SHALL DETERMINE WHETHER THE SOCIAL ORGANIZATION
HAS SPENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR THE STATE AID IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
AGREEMENT; AND

(2)  IF THE UNIT OR COMPTROLLER FINDS INCONSISTENCIES
BETWEEN THE AGREEMENT AND THE EXPENDITURES OR OPERATIONS OF THE
SOCIAL ORGANIZATION, SHALL GIVE THE DEPARTMENT OF BUDGET AND
FISCAL PLANNING AND THE DEPARTMENT OF FISCAL SERVICES NOTICE OF
THE INCONSISTENCIES.

(E)  AUDIT.

TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THIS SECTION, THE UNIT OR THE
COMPTROLLER MAY AUDIT THE FINANCIAL RECORDS OF A SOCIAL
ORGANIZATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a)(1) of this section is new
language used as the standard introductory language to
a definition subsection.

Subsection (a)(2) of this section is new language
added to allow concise reference to the entities to
which this section applies.

Subsection (a)(3) of this section is new language
added to avoid repetition of former references such as
"grants ... and contributions" and "funds from the
State Treasury".

Subsections (b)(1) and (2)(i) and (c) through (e) of
this section are new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 19, § 28.

Subsection (b)(2)(ii) of this section is new language
added to clarify that the agreement encompasses the
reporting requirements. This addition is based on the
reference, in former Art. 19, § 28(c), to filing the
report in accordance with the terms of th[e]
agreement[s].

In subsection (b)(1) of this section, the word
"statute" is substituted for the former reference to
"an act of the General Assembly", for brevity.
