5-406. CIVIL DEFENSE.

IN THE EXERCISE OF ITS PLANNING FUNCTIONS, THE DEPARTMENT
SHALL COOPERATE WITH ANY UNIT OF THE STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
IN PLANNING FOR CIVIL DEFENSE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Art. 88C,
§ 2(a) and (1).

The phrase "any unit of the State or federal
government" is substituted for the former phrase
"federal and State agencies", for consistency with
language used elsewhere in this article.

The only other changes are in style.

SUBTITLE 5. INFORMATION MANAGEMENT.

5-501. CENTRAL DEPOSITORY.

THE DEPARTMENT SHALL ESTABLISH A CENTRAL DEPOSITORY FOR ALL
GENERAL, AREA, AND FUNCTIONAL PLANS RELATED TO THIS TITLE, AND
ALL AMENDMENTS OR REVISIONS TO THESE PLANS, THAT ARE PREPARED BY:

(1)  ANY UNIT OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT, OF A REGIONAL
GOVERNMENT, OR OF A LOCAL GOVERNMENT; OR

(2)  ANY INTERSTATE AGENCY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 88C, §
2(a) and the first sentence of (q).

In subsection (a)(1) of this section, the former word
"municipal" is deleted as included in the word
"local".

5-502. SUBMISSION OF PLANS TO DEPARTMENT.

EACH UNIT OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT, OF A REGIONAL GOVERNMENT,
OR OF A LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AND EACH INTERSTATE AGENCY, SHALL
SUBMIT TO THE DEPARTMENT THE PLANS REQUIRED BY REGULATIONS
ADOPTED BY THE SECRETARY.

without substantive change from the second and third
sentences of former Art. 88C, § 2(q).
