Subsection (d) of this section is new language derived
from the third sentence of former Art. 88C, § 9(c), as
that sentence applied to the annual report.

In subsection (b) of this section, the former word
"amended" is deleted as included in the word
"revised".

Also in subsection (b) of this section, the phrase
"since the last annual report" is substituted for the
former phrase "during the year" to avoid confusion
about what constitutes the "year".

In subsection (c)(3) of this section, the former word
"metropolitan" is deleted as included in the word
"regional".

In subsection (c)(4) of this section, the word
"interested" is deleted as unnecessary because the
Department is only required to distribute copies of
the report to federal agencies that request copies.

5-308. SPECIAL REPORTS.

(A)  REQUIRED.

ON THE REQUEST OF THE GOVERNOR, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, OR THE
LEGISLATIVE POLICY COMMITTEE, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL SUBMIT A
SPECIAL REPORT ON ANY ASPECT OF THE WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT THAT
IS CONSIDERED TO BE OF CURRENT INTEREST.

(B)  PERMITTED.

THE DEPARTMENT MAY SUBMIT A SPECIAL REPORT ON ANY ASPECT OF
ITS WORK THAT THE SECRETARY CONSIDERS TO BE OF CURRENT INTEREST.

(C)  AVAILABILITY.

THE DEPARTMENT SHALL MAKE SPECIAL REPORTS ON MAJOR RESEARCH
AND PLANNING PROJECTS, AS DISTINGUISHED FROM MERE COMPILATIONS OF
CURRENT INFORMATION, AVAILABLE AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE AFTER
COMPLETION.

(D)  DISTRIBUTION.

UNLESS THE GOVERNOR DIRECTS OTHERWISE, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
DISTRIBUTE A COPY OF A SPECIAL REPORT:

(1) SUBJECT TO § 2-1312 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT
ARTICLE, TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY;
