In subsection (b)(2) of this section, the words "is
for at least 2 proposed sites from which 1 site is to
be selected" are substituted for the former words
"includes proposals for more than one site", for
clarity.

In subsection (d) of this section, the phrase "for a

site" is substituted for the former phrase "with

respect to no more than one site", for brevity and
clarity.

Former Art. 41, § 231G-l(b)(1)(i) and (iii), which
defined "governing bodies", is deleted as surplusage.

4-320. BUILDING SPACE -- DUTY TO ADVERTISE.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

THE DEPARTMENT SHALL ADVERTISE ANY NEED OF THE STATE TO RENT
BUILDING SPACE AT LEAST 30 DAYS BEFORE PROPOSALS FOR A LEASE ARE
DUE.

(B)  NEWSPAPERS.

THE DEPARTMENT SHALL ADVERTISE THE PROPOSED LEASING IN DAILY
OR WEEKLY NEWSPAPERS WITH CIRCULATION SUFFICIENT TO PROVIDE
NOTICE:

(1)  TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE; OR

(2)  AT LEAST TO THE PEOPLE OF THE AFFECTED LOCALITY.

(C)  CONTENTS OF ADVERTISEMENT.
THE ADVERTISEMENT SHALL CONTAIN:

(1)  THE NUMBER OF SQUARE FEET PROPOSED TO BE LEASED;
AND

(2)  THE GENERAL AREA IN WHICH THE STATE DESIRES TO
LEASE THE SPACE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Art. 41,
§ 231G-l(c).

In subsection (a) of this section, the words "before
proposals for a lease are due" are substituted for the
former words "before accepting proposals for leases",
for clarity.

In subsection (b)(2) of this section, the words "at
least" are added to emphasize that notice to the State
must include notice to the affected locality.
