(2) IMPAIR THE FULL USE AND ENJOYMENT OF THE PUBLIC
BUILDINGS BY HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS FOR EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT,
RECREATION, TRAINING, OR TREATMENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 78A, §
51(c).

The General Assembly may wish to consider deleting the
words "for education, employment, recreation,
training, or treatment" from item (2) of this section,
as this subtitle covers public buildings used for
purposes other than those enumerated.

2-503. SCOPE OF SUBTITLE.

THE DESIGN OF ANY PUBLIC BUILDING BY THE STATE OR A
POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE IS GOVERNED BY THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as the third
sentence of Art. 78A, § 51(d).

The former reference to July 1, 1968, is deleted as
obsolete.

The only other changes are in style.

Defined term: "Public building" § 2-501

2-504. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR BUILDINGS TO PROVIDE FOR
FACILITIES.

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ANY PUBLIC
BUILDING, OTHER THAN A BUILDING TO BE USED AS A PENAL
INSTITUTION, SHALL PROVIDE FOR FACILITIES FOR HANDICAPPED
INDIVIDUALS.

without substantive change from the second sentence of
former Art. 78A, § 51(a).
