(Senate Bill 199)
AN ACT concerning
Annual Curative Bill
FOR the purpose of generally curing certain previous Acts of the
General Assembly enacted with possible title defects; adding
to the list of charitable organizations exempt from filing a
registration statement those charitable organizations
inadvertently eliminated by Ch. 787 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1984; providing for a biennial renewal
of licenses for insurance adjusters and advisers and a
corresponding change in the fee schedule for such licenses;
including certain civilian employees of the Maryland State
Police in' the modified work week schedule for 10-hour work
periods and. permitting both those civilian employees and law
enforcement employees to work a 12-hour alternative work
schedule; providing for overtime compensation for law
enforcement employees and certain civilian employees working
the 10-hour and 12-hour modified work week schedules;
limiting the unemployment insurance surtax on employers for
State fiscal years 1985 and 1986 if the unemployment
insurance trust fund balance does not drop below a certain
amount; altering the period within which a secured party
must file a purchase money security interest in order to
take priority over the rights of a transferee in bulk or of
a lien creditor which arise between the time the security
interest attaches and the time of filing; requiring that the
Sheriff of Prince George's County appoint one of the
full-time assistant sheriffs as the chief assistant sheriff;
and generally adding, repealing, and repealing and
reenacting, without amendments, certain Acts of the General
Assembly that may be subject to possible title or function
paragraph defects in order to validate those Acts.
