VETOES
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 977.
This bill requires the Secretary of the Department of
Natural Resources to make an annual status report and
recommendations to the General Assembly to terminate or continue
the rockfish moratorium.
Senate Bill 704, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 28, 1985, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 977.
Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
