Planning prior to submitting an application for federal funding.

House Bill 612, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on April 9, 1985, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 454.

AN ACT concerning

Federal Aid Application Regulations - State
Application Identifier Number

FOR the purpose of requiring certain regulations of the
Department of State Planning dealing with federal aid
applications to require a unit of the State government to
obtain a State Application Identifier (SAI) number from the
Department of State Planning.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - State Finance and Procurement
Section 2-203(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ____ (H.B. 1) of the

Acts of the General Assembly of 1985)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Finance and Procurement

2-203.

(a) (1) After consultation with the Department of Budget
and Fiscal Planning, the Secretary of State Planning shall adopt
regulations that require a unit of the State government to submit
information, as required in this section, on federal aid,
including grants, instructional contracts, loans, research
contracts, or other assistance.

(2) THE REGULATIONS SHALL REQUIRE A UNIT OF THE STATE
GOVERNMENT TO OBTAIN A STATE APPLICATION IDENTIFIER (SAI) FROM
THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE PLANNING.
