HARRY HUGHES, Governor

3773

This bill requires the Secretary of the Department of

Natural Resources and the Secretary of the Department of Health

and Mental Hygiene, in cooperation with other agencies, to

develop and implement a program to monitor the quality of water
and living resources of the Chesapeake Bay.

House Bill 404, which was passed by the General Assembly and

signed by me on May 21, 1985, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 183.

Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor

Senate Bill No. 183

Chesapeake Bay - Monitoring Program

FOR the purpose of requiring the Secretary of Natural Resources
and the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene to develop
and implement a certain program to monitor the Chesapeake
Bay for certain purposes; requiring cooperation with certain
agencies to implement this Act; requiring certain reports to
the General Assembly under a certain schedule; providing for
the termination of this Act after a certain date; and
generally relating to a monitoring program for the
Chesapeake Bay.
