Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 11.

This bill extends until July 1, 1987, the Governor's
emergency energy powers, exercisable during energy crisis
emergency situations.

House Bill 51, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on April 9, 1985, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 11.

authorization to the Governor of certain powers during
energy crisis emergency situations.
