RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
Governor and Legislative Policy Committee are requested to
appoint a task force to recommend ways in which to control the
spread of rabies in Maryland; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the task force be composed of:
(1) 2 Senators appointed by the President of the Senate;
(2) 2 Delegates appointed by the Speaker of the House;
(3) 2 members of the Department of Natural Resources
appointed by the Governor;
(4) 2 members of the Department of Agriculture appointed by
the Governor; and
(5) 2 members of the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene appointed by the Governor; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Department of Natural Resources provide
the necessary staff support for this task force; and be it
RESOLVED, That the task force report its findings to the
Governor and the General Assembly as soon as possible, but no
later than October 15, 1985; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded by the
Department of Legislative Reference to the Honorable Harry
Hughes, Governor of Maryland; the Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin,
Speaker of the House of Delegates; the Honorable Melvin A.
Steinberg, President of the Senate of Maryland; Torrey C. Brown,
M.D., Secretary of Natural Resources, Tawes State Office
Building, 580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401; Wayne A.
Cawley, Jr., Secretary of Agriculture, 50 Harry S. Truman
Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401; and Adele Wilzack, R.N., M.S.,
Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene, 5th Floor, 201 West
Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
