(A) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SUBTITLE, AN
INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE LICENSED BY THE BOARD BEFORE THE INDIVIDUAL
MAY PRACTICE DIETETICS IN THE STATE.
(B) THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS MAY PRACTICE DIETETICS
WITHOUT A LICENSE:
(1) A STUDENT OR TRAINEE, WORKING UNDER THE DIRECT OR
INDIRECT SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED DIETITIAN WHILE FULFILLING AN
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT OR PURSUING A COURSE OF STUDY TO MEET
REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSURE, FOR A LIMITED PERIOD OF TIME AS
DETERMINED BY THE BOARD;
(2) AN INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYED BY THE UNITED STATES
GOVERNMENT AS A DIETITIAN, WHILE PRACTICING WITHIN THE SCOPE OF
THAT EMPLOYMENT.
(3) AN INDIVIDUAL WHO AIDS IN THE PRACTICE OF
DIETETICS, IF THE INDIVIDUAL:
(I) WORKS UNDER THE DIRECT OR INDIRECT
SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED DIETITIAN OR LICENSED PHYSICIAN; AND.
(II) PERFORMS ONLY SUPPORT ACTIVITIES THAT DO
NOT REQUIRE ADVANCE TRAINING IN THE BASIC CHEMICAL, PHYSIOLOGIC,
PSYCHOLOGIC, AND SOCIAL SCIENCES THAT ARE USED IN THE PRACTICE OF
DIETETICS;
(4) AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS NOT A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE
AND WHO IS A REGISTERED DIETITIAN, OR WHO MEETS THE
QUALIFICATIONS IN SECTION 4.5-302(D)(3) OF THIS SUBTITLE, IF THE
INDIVIDUAL:
(I) PRACTICES DIETETICS IN THIS STATE FOR NOT
MORE THAN 90 DAYS IN ANY CALENDAR YEAR; AND
(II) NOTIFIES THE BOARD BEFORE PRACTICING
DIETETICS IN THIS STATE;
(5) (4) A REGISTERED DIETITIAN WHO HAS RECENTLY
BECOME A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE, OR IS A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE
BUT IS NOT LICENSED, AND WHO:
(I) HAS APPLIED FOR LICENSURE; AND
(II) HAS NOT HAD A LICENSE APPLICATION DENIED
IN THIS STATE; AND
(6) (5) A FACULTY MEMBER AT AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER
EDUCATION WHILE TEACHING OR CONDUCTING RESEARCH RELATED TO THE
STUDY OF NUTRITION OR DIETETICS.
(C) SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD, AN
INDIVIDUAL MAY PRACTICE DIETETICS WITHOUT A LICENSE IF THE
INDIVIDUAL:
