areas, in addition to the fees for catching oysters by diving,
tonging, or handscraping......................................$50

(viii) For a resident to catch any fish in
tidal waters by any methods which are lawful under Subtitles 2,
7, 8, 9, and 10..............................................$400

(ix) To buy, process, pack, resell, market, or
otherwise deal in fish caught in tidal waters, as required under
Subtitles 7, 8, 9, and 10....................................$150

(X) TO BUY FOR EXPORT FROM THE STATE ANY LIVE
CATFISH, CRAPPIE, BLUE GILL, YELLOW PERCH, OR CARP, IN LIEU OF
THE FEE IMPOSED UNDER ITEM (IX) OF THIS PARAGRAPH...........$50

(2) (I) Except in the issuance to a nonresident of a
license to catch crabs under Section 4-804(c) of this title, the
Department shall assess annually on every nonresident license
applicant for the applicant's fishing activities under Subtitles
7, 8, and 9 of this title, in addition to the normal license fees
imposed by this subsection, a surcharge which cumulatively for
the license year, shall be the greater of:

(i) 1. An amount equal to the difference
between the total fees charged to a Maryland resident engaged in
like fishing activities in the state of residence of the
nonresident applicant, and the total of normal license fees for
fishing activities in Maryland; or

(ii) 2. $350.

(II) 1. IN THIS PARAGRAPH, "FISHING ACTIVITIES"
MEANS THOSE ACTIVITIES THAT ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE
HARVESTING OF FISH.

2. "FISHING ACTIVITIES" DOES NOT INCLUDE
THE ACTIVITIES OF BUYING, SELLING, PROCESSING, TRANSPORTING,
EXPORTING, OR SIMILARLY DEALING IN FISH.
