any unit within the Department pursuant to the provisions of this
title is a misdemeanor and is punishable as provided in
subsections (b) and (c) OF THIS SECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.

(House Bill 390)

AN ACT concerning

Election Law - Contested Elections

FOR the purpose of creating a uniform procedure under which a
registered voter may seek judicial relief from certain acts
or omissions relating to an election; specifying the venue,
time limits, and general procedures for proceedings brought
under this Act; providing certain remedies that may be
ordered by the court; repealing certain existing provisions
relating to contested elections; and generally relating to
the conduct of, and challenges to, elections subject to the
provisions of the State Election Code.

BY repealing

Article 33 - Election Code

Section 19-1 through 19-8, inclusive, 26-18(a) through (f),

inclusive, and 26-19
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1983 Replacement Volume and 1984 Supplement)

BY adding to

Article 33 - Election Code

Section 19-1 through 19-5, inclusive

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1983 Replacement Volume and 1984 Supplement)

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
