(A) IN ADDITION TO THE POWERS SET FORTH ELSEWHERE IN THIS
TITLE, THE BOARD MAY ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS TO CARRY OUT THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS TITLE.
(B) IN ADDITION TO THE DUTIES SET FORTH ELSEWHERE IN THIS
TITLE, THE BOARD SHALL:
(1) MAINTAIN A REGISTRY OF ALL CURRENTLY CERTIFIED
PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS;
(2) MAKE THE REGISTRY AVAILABLE TO THE CERTIFIED
PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS, STATE AGENCIES, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC
ON REQUEST;
(2) CLASSIFY CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS BY
PRACTICE SPECIALTY BASED ON EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE;
(3) SUBMIT AN ANNUAL REPORT TO THE GOVERNOR AND THE
SECRETARY;
(4) (I) ADOPT A CODE OF ETHICS THAT THE BOARD
CONSIDERS TO BE APPROPRIATE AND APPLICABLE TO CERTIFIED
PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS; AND
(II) IN ADOPTING A CODE OF ETHICS, THE BOARD
SHALL CONSIDER THE ETHICAL STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS
PUBLISHED BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR COUNSELING AND
DEVELOPMENT;
(5) ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN CRITERIA FOR CONTINUING
EDUCATION PROGRAMS REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL
COUNSELORS; AND
(6) ADOPT AN OFFICIAL SEAL.
(C) (1) THE BOARD SHALL ESTABLISH OR SELECT AN EXAMINATION
THAT THE BOARD CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE TO DETERMINE THE ABILITY OF
AN APPLICANT TO BE A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR, INCLUDING
THE EXAMINATION PREPARED BY THE NATIONAL BOARD OF CERTIFIED
COUNSELORS.
(2) THE EXAMINATIONS SHALL BE FREE OF CULTURAL BIAS.
15.5-206.
(A) (1) EXCEPT FOR THE FEES SPECIFICALLY SET BY THIS TITLE,
THE BOARD MAY SET REASONABLE FEES FOR THE ISSUANCE AND RENEWAL OF
CERTIFICATES AND ITS OTHER SERVICES.
(2) THE FEES CHARGED SHALL BE SET TO PRODUCE FUNDS SO
AS TO APPROXIMATE THE COST OF MAINTAINING THE BOARD.
(B) THE BOARD SHALL PAY ALL FUNDS COLLECTED UNDER THIS
TITLE INTO THE GENERAL FUND OF THIS STATE.
