Somerset County - Alcoholic Beverages
(Special Licenses)

FOR the purpose of permitting nonprofit committees in Somerset
County to exercise certain special alcoholic beverages
license privileges; deleting certain requirements on those
licenses; altering the special license fees; prohibiting the

certain information; and generally relating to special
alcoholic beverages licenses in Somerset County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 25(m)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

25.

(m) (1) In Somerset County the clerk of the court, with the
approval of the board of license commissioners, may grant special
licenses of any class except manufacturer's and wholesaler's
licenses.

(2)  The licenses shall entitle the holder to exercise
any of the privileges conferred by the respective classes of
licenses at any bona fide entertainment held or conducted by any
club, society, association, NONPROFIT COMMITTEE, or civic or
charitable organization [consisting of at least 25 members and
having been in existence for at least 24 consecutive months
preceding the effective date of the application for the license].

(3)  (i) A special beer or beer and light wine license
may be issued for up to 7 consecutive days.

(ii) A special beer, wine and liquor license
may be issued for up to 14 consecutive days.

(4)  (i) The fee for a special beer [or], beer and
light wine, OR BEER, WINE AND LIQUOR license is [$10] $50 FOR
EACH LICENSE FOR AN INITIAL 2-DAY PERIOD.

(ii) AFTER THE INITIAL 2-DAY PERIOD, THE [The]
fee for [a special beer, wine and liquor] EACH ADDITIONAL
[license] DAY is [$50] $25.
