12-110. ASSESSMENTS.
THE ASSESSMENT OF LAND DEVOTED TO AGRICULTURAL OR FOREST USE
MAY NOT BE AFFECTED BY WHETHER OR NOT THAT LAND IS INCLUDED IN AN
AGRICULTURAL PRESERVATION DISTRICT.
12-111. HEARING REQUIRED.
PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROGRAM THE BOARD SHALL HOLD
A HEARING AT WHICH TIME THE PROPOSED PROGRAM SHALL BE PRESENTED.
THE BOARD SHALL GIVE REASONABLE NOTICE OF ITS INTENTION TO HOLD
THIS HEARING.
TITLE 13. RESERVED.
TITLE 14. PENSIONS AND RETIREMENT.
SUBTITLE 1. RETIREMENT FOR VOLUNTEER FIREMEN AND
RESCUE SQUADMEN.
14-101. RETIREMENT PROGRAM.
THERE IS A RETIREMENT PROGRAM FOR QUALIFIED ACTIVE VOLUNTEER
MEMBERS OF THE CALVERT COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES AND
VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUADS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE, AN
ACTIVE VOLUNTEER MEMBER IS A PERSON WHO ACCUMULATED A MINIMUM OF
50 POINTS PER CALENDAR YEAR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE POINT SYSTEM
SET FORTH IN THIS SUBTITLE.
14-102. BENEFITS. BENEFITS.
(A) ANY PERSON WHO HAS SERVED AS A MEMBER OF ANY CALVERT
COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY OR CALVERT COUNTY VOLUNTEER RESCUE
SQUAD IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS, PROVIDED
THAT:
(1) THE PERSON IS CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE TO HAVE SERVED AS AN ACTIVE VOLUNTEER
SUBSEQUENT TO DECEMBER 31, 1974.
(2) ANY PERSON WHO DISCONTINUED ACTIVE VOLUNTEER
SERVICE PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 1975 MAY RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THE
SERVICE AFTER BEING CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS SUBTITLE.
(B) BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1975, ANY PERSON WHO HAS REACHED
THE AGE OF 60 AND WHO HAS COMPLETED A MINIMUM OF 25' YEARS OF
CERTIFIED ACTIVE VOLUNTEER SERVICE, WITH ANY CALVERT COUNTY
VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY OR VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD OR COMBINATION,
SHALL RECEIVE BENEFITS IN THE AMOUNT OF $100 PER MONTH, FOR LIFE.
PAYMENTS SHALL BEGIN ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE FIRST MONTH
FOLLOWING ELIGIBILITY. THE PROGRAM SHALL BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
FIRE AND RESCUE COMMISSION OF CALVERT COUNTY AND PAYMENTS SHALL
BE MADE DIRECTLY TO THE VOLUNTEER ENTITLED TO THE BENEFITS.
