THE UNIFORM UNCLAIMED PROPERTY ACT AND TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION
THE RULES OF ADMINISTRATORS IN OTHER JURISDICTIONS THAT ENACT THE
UNIFORM UNCLAIMED PROPERTY.

(C) THE ADMINISTRATOR MAY JOIN WITH OTHER STATES TO SEEK
ENFORCEMENT OF THIS SUBTITLE AGAINST ANY PERSON WHO IS OR MAY BE
HOLDING PROPERTY REPORTABLE UNDER THIS ACT.

ALL AGREEMENTS TO PAY COMPENSATION TO RECOVER OR ASSIST IN
THE RECOVERY OF PROPERTY MADE WITHIN 24 MONTHS OF THE DATE THE
PROPERTY IS PAID OR DELIVERED TO THE ABANDONED PROPERTY DIVISION
ARE UNENFORCEABLE UNLESS THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID IS 20
PERCENT OR LESS OF THE PROPERTY TO BE RECOVERED.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.

violation under the Maryland Consumer Protection Act; and

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

13-410.

(a) A merchant who engages in a violation of this title is
subject to a fine of not more than [$300] $1,000 for each
violation.
