Article - State Finance and Procurement

Section 5-904 through 5-906 and 5-909 to be under the new

part "Part II. Patuxent River Policy Plan"
Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ____ (H.B. 1) of the

Acts of the General Assembly of 1984)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Finance and Procurement

5-901.

(c) "Plan" means:

(1)  the PATUXENT RIVER Policy Plan [for the Patuxent
River Watershed adopted] THAT HAS BEEN APPROVED by the General
Assembly[.]; AND

(2)  ALL AMENDMENTS TO THAT PLAN THAT ARE APPROVED
UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

Policy Plan.]

[5-904.

The Department of State Planning shall:

(1)  develop, in coordination with other appropriate
departments of the State government, a policy plan for the
Patuxent River Watershed; and

(2)  have primary responsibility for the preparation
of the Plan.]

[5-905.

The Plan shall serve as a basis for continuing coordination
and implementation.]

[5-906.

The planning shall begin with:

(1)  a review of current laws, regulations, policies,
programs, and plans of the State relating to the Patuxent River,
to evaluate their effectiveness and the adequacy of their
implementation;

(2)  a review of scenic rivers, areas of critical
State concern, coastal zone management plans, local comprehensive
plans, and regional plans; and
