WHEREAS, The Mental Retardation and Developmental
Disabilities Administration is in the process of implementing a
reasonable cost reimbursement method for purchasing community
based services for mentally retarded and nonretarded
developmentally disabled individuals; and

WHEREAS, Chapter 292 of the Laws of Maryland of 1984
provides that the acquisition on human, cultural, social, and
educational services is not subject to the provisions of the
State Procurement Law until June 30, 1985; and

WHEREAS, The Mental Retardation and Developmental

Disabilities Administration's implementation of its cost

reimbursement system is scheduled to begin July 1, 1986; now,
therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That acquisitions of human, cultural, social, and
educational services by the Mental Retardation and Developmental
Disabilities Administration of the Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene shall be exempted from the provisions of the State
Procurement Law until July 1, 1986.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.

AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - Hunting on Private Land

FOR the purpose of requiring a person who comes to hunt with a
gun on land in Garrett County owned by another person to
obtain written permission of the landowner or certain other
persons; imposing liability in certain circumstances on a
person hunting on private land in Garrett County; protecting
a landowner in Garrett County from certain liabilities; and
generally relating to hunting on private lands in Garrett
County.
