BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 33 - Election Code
Section 2-7(f)(2) and (g)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 33 - Election Code
2-7.
(f) (1) Each board shall have power to fix the compensation
of judges within the limits of the amounts authorized for this
purpose by the county commissioners, county council or the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, as the case may be, provided that
compensation shall not be less than $20 per day for each day
actually served.
(2) In Allegany County the compensation shall not be
less than [$30] $75 per day for each CHIEF JUDGE AND $55 PER DAY
FOR OTHER JUDGES FOR EACH day actually served.
(g) Judges shall receive a course of instruction in their
duties administered by the board. [For attending the required
courses of instruction in Allegany County, the judges shall
receive as compensation the sum of five dollars ($5.00) for each
day of instruction and a mileage allowance for each such day at
the rate of ten cents per mile between their residence and the
place where the course of instruction is given.]
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35, of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the election judges in Allegany County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary or compensation of the election judges in
Allegany County shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.
