Ch. 348

All other personnel in the department shall be appointed by
the county executive, upon the recommendation of the director of
probation, with the approval of the court, and may be removed at
any time by the director, with the approval of the court and the
county executive, upon thirty days' written notice of the date of
removal.]

[5-604.

Under the supervision and administrative direction of the
court, the director of probation shall be in full charge of the
department and shall set up procedures, rules and regulations for
carrying out the functions and duties of the department. He
shall be responsible for the direct supervision and
administration of all personnel in the department. He shall keep
himself and the court informed of the availability of other
community agencies for handling children's problems. He shall
make every effort to screen all cases before petitions are made
out against persons who might be brought before the court.

The assistant probation officers shall perform such duties
as they may be called upon to perform by the director of
probation in carrying out the functions and duties of the
department:]

The salaries of all personnel in the department shall be
fixed by the court, subject to the approval of the county
council.]

[5-606.

All regular employees and officers of the department shall
be entitled to membership in the county retirement and pension
systems and shall be entitled to the same right and duties
thereunder as other county employees.]

[5-607.

The circuit court shall assess a charge of two per cent over
and above and based upon monies, ordered by such court and by the
people's court of the county to be paid by errant fathers or
husbands, to support their children, or in payment of alimony,
including monies which children are ordered to pay for the
support of parents, for the purpose of defraying expenses in the
county's juvenile probation department, which office administers
the program. This two per cent service charge shall be paid by
persons so ordered to pay support monies.]

(a) The juvenile probation department is authorized to
receive and distribute to the proper persons all monies paid to
