SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health - Environmental

9-321.

THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE AND THE SECRETARY
OF NATURAL RESOURCES JOINTLY SHALL:

(1)  DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM TO
MONITOR THE QUALITY OF THE WATERS AND LIVING RESOURCES OF THE
CHESAPEAKE BAY;

(2)  COOPERATE WITH OTHER STATES IN THE CHESAPEAKE BAY
REGION AND WITH THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
AND OTHER STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES, AS APPROPRIATE; AND

(3)  REPORT EVERY 2 YEARS TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON
THE RESULTS OF THIS MONITORING PROGRAM AND THE STATUS OF THE
RESOURCES OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY.
