(3) APPOINT AND REMOVE SHE EMPLOYEES OF THE COUNCIL.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, notwithstanding
Article 41, Section 399(b)(1) of the Code, of the 13 members
selected, 6 members shall be the members of the Commission on
June 30, 1985 whose terms continue beyond July 1, 1985; 3 members
shall be appointed for terms of 3 years each beginning July 1,
1985; 1 member shall be appointed for an initial term of 3 years
and 1 month beginning June 1, 1985; 1 member shall be appointed
for. an initial term of 2 years and 1 month beginning June 1,
1985; and 2 members shall be appointed for initial terms of 1
year and 1 month beginning June 1, 1985.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1985.

AN ACT concerning

Election Code - New Party Petitions

FOR the purpose of requiring that any petition filed to form a
new political party include certain information about the
State chairman; requiring the State chairman to file a
certain affidavit; clarifying that certain persons signing
new party petitions must be registered voters; establishing
certain time limits during which new party petitions can be
filed; placing certain age restrictions on affiants; and
requiring that new party petitions be sorted by county when
filed with the State Administrative Board of Elections Laws.
