Health Occupations - Boards
FOR the purpose of establishing a degree of uniformity among
certain boards regulating health occupations as to their
licensing and disciplinary functions; extending under
certain conditions the jurisdiction of certain boards to
licensees who have surrendered or failed to renew their
license; granting certain boards the rights to appeal
judicial modification of their administrative orders;
establishing a certain limitation for the reinstatement of
certain health occupations licenses; adding an additional
ground for disciplinary action for certain boards; and
generally relating to the licensing and disciplinary
activities of certain health occupations boards.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health Occupations
2-312.1.
(A) UNLESS THE BOARD AGREES TO ACCEPT THE SURRENDER OF A
LICENSE OR A LIMITED LICENSE, A LICENSED AUDIOLOGIST OR HOLDER OF
A LIMITED LICENSE MAY NOT SURRENDER THE LICENSE OR LIMITED
LICENSE NOR MAY THE LICENSE LAPSE BY OPERATION OF LAW WHILE THE
LICENSEE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION OR WHILE CHARGES ARE PENDING
AGAINST THE LICENSEE.
