(a)  The board of community college trustees for Harford
County consists of [seven] NINE members. Of the members:

(1)  Each shall be a resident of Harford County;

(2)   [Five] SEVEN shall be appointed by the Governor
for terms of 5 years; and

(3)  Two shall be appointed by the Harford County
Board of Education from among its members for terms of 1 year.

(b)  A member of the Board appointed by the Governor may not
serve for more than two consecutive 5 year terms.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That at the
conclusion of the present terms of members of the board of
community college trustees for Harford County expiring in 1985,
1986, 1987, 1988, and 1989, respectively, the Governor shall
appoint members of the board of community college trustees for
Harford County in the following manner:

(a)  In 1985 the Governor shall appoint 3 members, 2 of whom
shall serve for 5 years and 1 of whom shall serve for 3 years
only;

(b)  In 1986 the Governor shall appoint 1 member for 5
years;

(c)  In 1987 the Governor shall appoint 1 member for 5
years;

(d)  In 1988 the Governor shall appoint 2 members for 5
years; and

(e)  In 1989 the Governor shall appoint 1 member for 5
years.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.
