AN ACT concerning

Calvert County - Sheriff's Pensions

FOR the purpose of requiring authorizing the County Commissioners
of Calvert County to provide in their annual budget for a
pension for the surviving spouse, if any, of the Sheriff of
Calvert County in office at a certain time; and providing
for the amount and duration of the pension.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

(f) (3) (I) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CALVERT COUNTY
SHALL MAY PROVIDE IN THEIR ANNUAL BUDGET FOR A PENSION TO BE PAID
TO THE SURVIVING SPOUSE IF ANY, OF ANY SHERIFF OF CALVERT COUNTY
WHO WAS IN OFFICE AS OF OCTOBER, 1970.

(II) THE PENSION SHALL BE IN THE AMOUNT OF $150
$250 A MONTH AND SHALL BE PAID TO THE SURVIVING SPOUSE, IF ANY,
FOR THE LIFE OF THAT SURVIVING SPOUSE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.
