(2) IF THE GOVERNING BODIES OF THE MEMBER POLITICAL
SUBDIVISIONS DO NOT. LIMIT THE PROJECTS THAT THE AUTHORITY MAY
BEGIN, THE AUTHORITY HAS ALL OF THE POWERS GRANTED BY THIS
SUBTITLE.

(C) CREATION OF ADDITIONAL AUTHORITIES.

(1)  THE GOVERNING BODY OF A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION
THAT HAS CREATED AN AUTHORITY UNDER THIS SUBTITLE MAY NOT CREATE
ANY OTHER AUTHORITY TO SERVE ANY PART OF THE SAME AREA.

(2)  UNLESS THE GOVERNING BODY OF EVERY OTHER MEMBER
POLITICAL SUBDIVISION CONSENTS BY LAW, A MEMBER POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION MAY NOT CREATE OR JOIN IN THE CREATION OF ANY OTHER
AUTHORITY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former HE § 9-907.

In subsection (a) of this section, the former
reference to the power of an authority to extend a
project is deleted as unnecessary in light of the
other provisions of subsection (a) of this section.

9-919. COMBINING SYSTEMS FOR OPERATION AND FINANCING PURPOSES.

FOR THE PURPOSES OF OPERATION AND FINANCING, AN AUTHORITY
MAY COMBINE ANY WATER SYSTEM AND SEWERAGE SYSTEM INTO A SINGLE
PROJECT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former HE §
9-906(b)(10).

The word "project" is substituted for the former word
"system" in light of the definition of "project" in §
9-901 of this subtitle. Notwithstanding this
definition, "project" is not substituted for the
defined terms "water system" and "sewerage system" for
clarity to indicate the separate nature of certain
water systems and sewerage systems.

9-920. INTERESTS IN PROPERTY AND FRANCHISES; CONSENT REQUIRED TO
USE EMINENT DOMAIN.

(A) IN GENERAL.

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF AN AUTHORITY MAY:

(1) ACQUIRE, LEASE AS A LESSEE, HOLD, AND USE ANY
INTEREST IN ANY PROPERTY OR FRANCHISE THAT IS NECESSARY OR
DESIRABLE TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES OF THE AUTHORITY;
