AN ACT concerning

CHAPTER 148
(Senate Bill 185)

Adult Protective Services

FOR the purpose of providing that the State Director on Aging
shall be notified and may participate as a party in certain
proceedings relating to persons 65 years or older; requiring
local departments of social services and certain persons to
report incidents of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and
exploitation of vulnerable adults; abrogating any legally
recognized privileged communication for those required to
report; providing for confidentiality of persons making
reports, subject to disclosure under certain circumstances;
providing certain immunities; establishing reporting and
investigation procedures; generally revising and
reorganizing the provisions on adult protective services';
changing certain terminology; defining certain terms; and
generally relating to adult protective services.

"Subtitle 3. Emergency Provisions"

BY adding to

Section 14-101 through 14-309, inclusive, and the new

subtitle "Subtitle 3. Investigation Provisions"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1984 Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 14-101 through 14-301, inclusive, and
the subtitle "Subtitle 3. Emergency Provisions" of Article -
Family Law of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:
