(3) "Full-time equivalent students" is the quotient
of the number of student credit hours produced in the fiscal year
divided by 30.
(c) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection,
the State share is 50 percent of the current expenses of each
community college, but not more than [$910] $930 $980 per
full-time equivalent student.
(2) Except as provided in paragraph (4) of this
subsection, the State share is 55 percent of the current expenses
for Cecil Community College, Garrett Community College,
Chesapeake College, and Wor-Wic Tech Community College, but not
more than [$1,720] $1,790 $1,865 per full-time equivalent
student.
(3) Except for Cecil Community College, Garrett
Community College, Chesapeake College, and Wor-Wic Tech Community
College, the State shall grant to each board of trustees for
community colleges in this State:
(i) An annual grant of [$270,000] $350,000; and
(ii) $14 per part-time credit student enrolled
in the respective community college.
(4) For [fiscal year 1985, and] each fiscal year
[thereafter], the employer social security contributions for any
eligible position paid by the State may not exceed 6.70 percent
of that part of the salary paid included within the social
security wage base as defined in federal law.
(5) THE STATE CONTRIBUTION TO EMPLOYER SOCIAL
SECURITY AND RETIREMENT FRINGE BENEFIT COSTS IS NOT INCLUDED IN
THE CALCULATIONS OF AMOUNTS UNDER PARAGRAPHS (1), (2), AND (3) OF
THIS SUBSECTION.
(d) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection,
the county share is 28 percent of the current expenses.
(2) The county share is 32 percent of current
expenses for Cecil Community College, Garrett Community College,
and Chesapeake College.
(3) Any county, or the counties that support a
regional community college, may pay more than its share of the
current expenses.
(e) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection,
the students at each community college shall pay, through tuition
and fees, at least 22 percent of current expenses.
(2) The students shall pay, through tuition and fees,
