CHAPTER 108.

(Senate Bill 495)

AN ACT concerning

Health Care Cost Containment - Health Resources
Planning Commission

FOR the purpose of improving the efficiency of health care
services provided in this State by authorizing the Governor
to direct the Health Resources Planning Commission to
suspend review of certificate of need applications under
certain circumstances; exempting certain applications that
address emergency circumstances from suspension; allowing
the Commission to impose certain penalties for failure to
provide certain information; authorizing the Commission to
send to local health planning agencies certain statistical
or other information; providing that the Commission may
appeal certain decisions and is a necessary party to any
appeal; apply to the Court of Appeals for review of adverse
decisions under certain circumstances; providing that a
certificate of need is not required to provide domiciliary
care; and generally relating to the Health Resources
Planning Commission and the regulation of health care
resources.
