Article 15A, Sec. 20(c);
$22,900,000 of the authorized
General Fund appropriation may be
transferred to the respective
departments, agencies, boards and
commissions for funding salary
adjustments as recommended by the
Secretary of Personnel in the
Annual Salary Review; $1,500,000
of the authorized General Fund
appropriation may be transferred
to the Maryland State Police and
the Natural Resources Police for
special salary adjustments ; and.
It is the intent of the General
Assembly that the proposed salary
plan for the State Police be
amended to provide the second
longevity step for 13 years
instead of 21 years. Provided
that for fiscal year 1986 for
individuals in the rank of First
Lieutenant and above the salary
increase, not including the
applicable longevity step, shall
not exceed 8.9%. It is the intent
of the General Assembly that the
proposed salary plan for the
State Police be amended to limit
the salary increase to the
Superintendent, Deputy
Superintendent and Lieutenant
Colonels to the 4% general salary
increase only. Be it further
provided that no funds in the
Annual Salary Review or the
operating budget of the State
Police shall be used to pay any
more than one Deputy
Superintendent above the pay
grade of Lieutenant Colonel. It
is the intent of the General
Assembly that the proposed salary
plan for the State Police be
amended to provide the second
longevity step for 13 years
instead of 21 years. It is the
intent of the General Assembly
that the salary increases
contained in the Annual Salary
Review for the positions listed
below be denied or reduced, and
that the salaries for fiscal year
1986, not including the statewide
salary increase, shall be as
follows:
