General Fund Appropriation,
provided that $500,000 of this

appropriation made for the

purpose of operating senior
activity centers may not be

expended until the Budget

Committees receive from the
Office on Aging plans detailing
the method by which the local
Area Agencies on Aging will
distribute those funds to the

centers. and the plans are

approved by the Budget

Committees. It is the

understanding of the committees
that funds for senior activity
centers will be distributed to
the local agencies based on the
formula for the federal Older
Americans Act....................

The General Fund Appropriation
herein authorized may be
transferred by approved budget

amendment to other State agencies
with programs providing services
to the Aging. Included in the
appropriation herein authorized
is the amount of $610,893 to be
transferred to the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene to be
utilized for geriatric evaluation
and community placement services,
$184,318 to the Department of
