Carroll County - School Board - Salaries

FOR the purpose of altering the salaries and expense allowances
of the chairman and members of the Carroll County Board of
Education; and providing that this Act does not affect the
incumbents.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

3-303.

[(a)] The chairman of the County Board is entitled to

receive [$850] $1,500 annually as compensation and the other

members are entitled to receive [$650] $1,300 each annually as
compensation.

[(b) The chairman and the other members are entitled to the
allowances for travel and other expenses provided in the Carroll
County budget.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to

Article III, § 35, of the Constitution of Maryland, that this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the chairman and members of the Carroll County Board of
Education in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary or compensation of
the chairman and members of the Carroll County Board of Education
shall take effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 3 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.
