53.

FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE STATE PROPERTY TAX, A COLLECTOR OF
TAXES SHALL BE BONDED AS REQUIRED BY THE COMPTROLLER. THE COST
OF THE BOND SHALL BE PAID BY THIS STATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

AN ACT concerning

Somerset County - Alcoholic Beverages - License Distance

Restrictions

FOR the purpose of requiring a certain distance between the
building that is proposed for licensing and the property
line of a school, church or other place of worship, public
library, or youth center as a prerequisite for the granting
of an alcoholic beverages license by the Somerset County
Board of License Commissioners; providing for an exception
to the distance requirement for certain licenses; and
providing that this Act does not apply to the renewal or
transfer of any alcoholic beverages license issued in
Somerset County before a certain date.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

53D.

IN SOMERSET COUNTY, THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS MAY
NOT APPROVE ANY LICENSE TO SELL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WITHIN A 300
FOOT MEASUREMENT FROM THE NEAREST POINT OF THE BUILDING THAT IS
THE PROPOSED ESTABLISHMENT FOR WHICH THE LICENSE IS REQUESTED TO
THE NEAREST POINT OF THE PROPERTY LINE OF A SCHOOL, CHURCH OR
