(III)  APPROPRIATE STUDIES OF BLOOD AND URINE;
AND

(IV)  APPROPRIATE STUDIES OF BODY FLUIDS AND
BODY TISSUES.

(3) IF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER DETERMINES TOXIC FUMES
WERE THE CAUSE OF DEATH, THE MEDICAL EXAMINER SHALL INVESTIGATE
THE SOURCE OF THE FUMES AND THE FUMES SPECIFIC EFFECT ON HUMAN
TISSUE PREPARE A WRITTEN REPORT ON THE SPECIFIC EFFECTS OF THE
FUMES ON HUMAN TISSUE.

[(2) The] (4) IN THE CASE OF A FIRE FIGHTER WHO DIES

IN THE LINE OF DUTY, THE analysis shall be sufficient to

determine eligibility for benefits under the federal Public
Safety Officers' Benefits Act of 1976.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Department
of Health and Mental Hygiene shall conduct a study by January 1,
1985 to determine the feasibility of carrying out the provisions
of this Act with respect to persons other than fire fighters.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall

take effect July 1, 1984.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect on July 1, 1985 subject to (1) the approval of a
study to determine the feasibility of this Act by the Department
of Budget and Fiscal Planning; and (2) the availability of funds
to carry out the purposes of this Act.

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore County - Sheriff -
Salary and Appointment of Deputies

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the Sheriff for
Baltimore County; altering the title of the chief deputy;
permitting the Sheriff to appoint any number of deputy
sheriffs; providing that the salary increase under this Act
does not affect incumbents; and generally relating to the
Baltimore County Sheriff.
