LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 227

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

3.

(G-3) (1) IN ST. MARY'S COUNTY, THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MAY ADOPT A SEPARATE PLAN OF PENSION BENEFITS OR MAY SUPPLEMENT
EXISTING PLANS FOR THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYEES OF THE SHERIFF'S
DEPARTMENT: ANY ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING CLASSES OF
EMPLOYEES:

(I)  SHERIFF;

(II)  DEPUTY SHERIFFS; AND

(I) POLICE PERSONNEL WHO ARE ACTIVELY ENGAGED
IN LAW ENFORCEMENT; AND

(II) (III) CORRECTIONAL GUARDS.

(2)  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS BY LAW RESOLUTION MAY
PROVIDE FOR THE PROVISIONS OF THE PENSION PLAN OR SUPPLEMENT TO
EXISTING PLANS.

(3)  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL PROVIDE FOR THE
FUNDING THAT IS REQUIRED TO IMPLEMENT AND SUPPORT ANY ACTION
TAKEN PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBSECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

AN ACT concerning

Hazardous Substances and Materials - Accidents - Immunity

FOR the purpose of providing immunity for a person who provides
advice or assistance in connection with the release or
threatened release of hazardous substances or materials;
setting out the circumstances under which the immunity is
available; and defining certain terms.
