AN ACT concerning

CHAPTER 204

(House Bill 561)

Child Support

FOR the purpose of providing that a court may award child support
for a period beginning before from the filing of any
pleading requesting child support; and generally relating to
child support.

BY renumbering

Article - Family Law

Section 12-101 and 12-102, respectively

to be Section 12-102 and 12-103, respectively

Annotated Code of Maryland

BY adding to

Article - Family Law

Section 12-101

Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ___ (H.B. 1) of the

Acts of the General Assembly of 1984)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 12-101 and 12-102, respectively, of
Article - Family Law of the Annotated Code of Maryland be
renumbered to be Section(s) 12-102 and 12-103, respectively.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article - Family Law

12-101.

THE COURT MAY AWARD CHILD SUPPORT FOR A PERIOD BEGINNING
FROM THE FILING OF THE PLEADING THAT REQUESTS CHILD SUPPORT.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect October 1, 1984.
